Orlando Luis Pardo Lazo is a writer, photographer, blogger of "Lunes de Post-Revolución"(English trans. "Post-Revolution Mondays"), and editor of the Cuban independent digital magazines The Revolution Evening Post and Voces. A graduate of Havana University (1994) and a member of PEN America, Orlando is a visiting fellow at the International Writers Project and adjunct professor of creative writing for the New Digital Media center at Brown University. Since 2013, he has been lecturing in U.S. universities about Cuban civil society and the alternative blogosphere.
In 2014 O/R Books published his new Cuban narrative anthology Cuba in Splinters and Restless Books published his digital photobook Abandoned Havana with a preface by Jon Lee Anderson. Orlando's work has been published in Diario de Cuba (Madrid), Sampsonia Way Magazine (Pittsburgh), El Nacional (Caracas), and The New York Times' photography blog, "The Lens."
In Cuba, his fiction book Boring Home was censored by the Letras Cubanas publishing house in 2009. He has been arrested three times on the island.
