William Gass (The Tunnel, Omensetter’s Luck, and Reading Rilke) has received the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism, a Lannan Lifetime Achievement award, the Pen-Nabokov Prize, and a gold medal for fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
